Paul Bicknell Keister March 31, 1942 – November 13, 2025 Paul Bicknell Keister, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2026, at the age of 83. He leaves behind a legacy woven with grit, grace, humor, and an unwavering devotion to the people he loved.

Born on March 31, 1942, to Paul Mastin Keister and Frances Marshman Keister, Paul grew up on Long Island, New York, alongside his siblings, Courtney ("Corky") Keister and Carol Keister McCormick.

Paul is survived by his devoted wife, Betsy; his sons, Paul, Matthew, and Tyler; his daughter-in-law, Amy; and his four cherished grandchildren, Adeline, Evan, Catie, and Jack, who brought him endless pride and joy.

A proud graduate of The Wheatley School in New York and Old Dominion University, Paul was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, where he built lifelong friendships and lasting memories. Paul enjoyed a long and distinguished career in banking, working throughout the diverse communities of the Tidewater region. Small business owners across the area trusted him; not simply because of his professional expertise, but because of the sincerity, integrity, and kindness he brought to every relationship. Everywhere Paul went, someone knew his name, shook his hand, or shared a story of how he had made a difference. Paul passed peacefully, surrounded by the family he cherished.

A celebration of Paul's life will be held at a future date in the Tidewater area. Details will be shared as they become available.
