LANCASTER, SC – Paul Henry Gillespie II, age 66, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026. He was born in Charlotte, NC, on June 28, 1960. He was the son of the late Paul H. Gillespie and the late Doris P. Gillespie.

Paul never met a stranger. With a kind and generous heart, he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He found his greatest joy in the outdoors, especially spending time in the Blue Ridge Mountains, where he loved camping, canoeing, hunting, and taking in the beauty of nature. His warm spirit, selfless nature, and love for adventure will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Paul is survived by his sister, Judy Crouch (George); his best friend, Thomas Valerino; his girlfriend, Joy Montgomery; two nieces and one nephew.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul H. Gillespie and Doria P. Gillespie; and his brother, Bruce P. Gillespie.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Paul will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 10:00 am – 11:00 am.
