LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Patsy Keye Plyler, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 6, 2020. She was born July 2, 1936 in Lancaster, SC, a daughter of the late John Augustus Keye and Zulee Morton Keye. She was the wife of Douglas E. Plyler. Mrs. Plyler enjoyed camping, making crafts and hand painting. She loved music, singing, and serving the Lord as well as spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Plyler was a very active member of Spring Hill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years, played the piano for over 50 years, GA leader, WMU Leader and many other ministries.
Mrs. Plyler is survived by her husband of 65 years, Douglas E. Plyler; a daughter, Sheri Plyler (Dwayne Burroughs); two sons, Mark Plyler (Kay), and David Plyler; four grandchildren, Casey Plyler (Sarah), Eric Plyler (Brooke), Ragen Plyler (Andrew) and Chris Agerton (Amy); three great grandchildren, Waylon Plyler, Christian Agerton, and Miranda Agerton; a brother, John Michael Keye (Pam); and two sisters, Linda Mills (JT), and Margaret Catoe.
Mrs. Plyler was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in-law, Crystal Rollings Plyler; and a brother-in-law, Bobby Catoe.
The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Mrs. Plyler will be 11:00 am Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Spring Hill Baptist Church Cemetery officiated by Rev. Benny Barwick and Rev. Brad Threatt. A public viewing and register signing will be available from 3:00 -5:00 pm, Friday, August 7, 2020 at Burgess Funeral Home.
The family will suggest memorial contributions be made to Spring Hill Baptist Church, Building Fund, 2245 Old Camden Monroe Hwy., Lancaster, SC 29720.
