LANCASTER, SC::::::::::: Mrs. Patricia Ann Carnes, age 68, died Saturday, November 8, 2014 at her home. She was born January 16, 1946 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Jerles Manley Carnes and Emily Oliver Carnes and was the wife of Herman Clayton Carnes. Mrs. Carnes retired from Mack Truck, enjoyed gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and was a wonderful cook. Some of her favorite times were with the Class of '61 and their trips. She was a member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church and volunteered with the Sonshiners Group.

Mrs. Carnes is survived by her husband, Herman Clayton Carnes, a son, CW3 USA Retired Clayton Scott Carnes and his wife Linda, a daughter, Stefanie Carnes Stacks and her husband Blake all of Lancaster, a brother, J. C. Carnes of Lancaster, a sister, Bonnie Cauthen and her husband Henry of Selma, Alabama, and five grandchildren, Jarrod, Nicholas, Meghan, and Mikayla Carnes and Landon Stacks.

Mrs. Carnes was preceded in death by a son, Jerles Brent Carnes and a sister, Louise Bass.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Carnes will be 3:00 pm, Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Pleasant Dale Baptist Church by Rev. Jessie Adams. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family of Mrs. Carnes will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Monday evening, November 10, 2014 at Burgess Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to Pleasant Dale Baptist Church, 133 S. Potter Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 or the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.
