LANCASTER, SC:::::: Mr. Owen L. Parnell, age 90, of 2330 Watts Drive, died Monday, September 26, 2011 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born July 18, 1921 in Lancaster County, a son of the late Benjamin Walker Parnell and Lillie Haile Parnell and was the husband of the late Arline Weaver Parnell. Mr. Parnell retired from Joselyn Clark Control and served our great county in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Parnell is survived by 2 sons; Mike Parnell and his wife Wanda of Augusta, GA and Rick Parnell of Rock Hill, a daughter, Judith D. Vincent and her husband Ray of Lancaster, a sister; Mary Vick of Rock Hill, 2 grandchildren; Scott Parnell and Ashley Parnell, and 3 great grandchildren; Neal and Garrett Faulkenberry and Ayden Parnell. Mr. Parnell was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Cecil Parnell and John Parnell and a granddaughter; Lisa Parnell Faulkenberry. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Parnell will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 29, 2011 at The Chapel of Hartley Funeral Home by Rev. Gerald Starnes. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The Family of Mr. Parnell will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at the funeral home and suggest memorial contributions to a charity of ones' choice.
