LANCASTER, SC::::::::::: Mrs. Ollie Snipes Herring, age 90, of 411 Chesterfield Villas died Thursday, December 02, 2010 at her home. She was born March 1, 1920 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late James Ernest Snipes and Doshia Kennington Snipes. Mrs. Herring retired from Springs Industries, was a member of Eastern Star and Pleasant Dale Baptist Church. Mrs. Herring is survived by a daughter, Kathy H. Arant of Lancaster, a sister, Faye S. Knight of Lancaster, 5 grandchildren, Eddie Caskey, Mandy Blackmon, Tommy Knight, Crystal Campbell and Brenner Hartley, and 6 great grandchildren, John, Jay, Jeff, Wes, Mason and Harrison. Mrs. Herring was preceded in death by 2 daughters Bobbie Faulkenberry and Cindy Knight, a sister Ethel Deese and 3 brothers, Odell Snipes J. D. Snipes, Melvin Snipes.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Herring will be 11:00 am Saturday, December 4, 2010 at The Chapel of Hartley Funeral Home by Rev. Jesse Adams. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The Family of Mrs. Herring will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday December 3, 2010 at Hartley Funeral Home and the family suggests memorials to Lancaster County Relay for Life, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210. The family of Mrs. Herring will be at the home of her grandson, Brenner Hartley,1964 Charles Avenue, Lancaster SC 29720.
