LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::: Mrs. Olive Newell Williams, age 83, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Piedmont Medical Center. She was born August 17, 1927 in Union County, NC, the daughter of the late William Ernest Newell and Wilma Irene Helms Newell and was the wife of the late Charles "Charlie" Williams. Mrs. Williams was homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Williams is survived by a son, Jevan Williams of Lancaster, 3 daughters, Tanya Williams of Lancaster, Gilda Williams Dalton of Lancaster, and Lori Williams of Hartsville, 3 grandchildren; Joel Dalton, Nicholas Dalton and Haley Reeves, and 2 sisters, Geneva Gordon of Waxhaw, NC and Grace Belk of Mint Hill, NC.Mrs. Williams was preceded by 2 brothers, W.E. Newell and Howard Newell, and 2 sisters, Edith Watkins and Nannie Lee Kilpatrick. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Williams will be 3:00 pm Thursday, May 12, 2011 at The Chapel of Hartley Funeral Home by Rev. James Herron. Burial will follow at Westside City Cemetery. The Family of Mrs. Williams will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 pm Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church, PO Box 670, Lancaster, SC 29721.
