LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Olin D. McManus, age 87, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024. He was born November 24, 1936, in Lancaster, SC, son of the late Effel Jack McManus, Sr. and Etta Melton McManus and was the husband of Voncille McManus. Mr. McManus enjoyed fishing and was an avid Gamecock fan. He was a member of several singing groups but sang with The Songsmen Quartet for over 15 years. Playing and singing with his brothers and sisters brought him much joy. He could play most instruments. Mr. McManus loved his family dearly and enjoyed time spent with them. Mr. and Mrs. McManus were charter members of Sherwood Baptist Church and he loved singing in the choir.

Mr. McManus is survived by his wife of 65 years, Voncille McManus; three daughters, Lisa Starnes, Lynn Faulkenberry (Jeff), and Lori Hinkle (Joe); four grandchildren, Josh Starnes (Rachel), Eric Faulkenberry (Tiffany), Avery Hinkle (Anna Grace), and Brady Hinkle; two great grandchildren, Sophia Faulkenberry and Evelyn Faulkenberry; three brothers, James McManus, Henry McManus, and Carl Lee McManus; one sister, Dori M. Kullbom; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, E.J. McManus, Jr., Steve McManus, and John McManus; and five sisters, Mae Doris M. Hinson, Louise M. Bowers, Lillian M. Phillips, Alene M. Catoe, and Mary Helen M. Phillips.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. McManus will be 11:00 am Friday, August 30, 2024, at Sherwood Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Steve Anglin and Rev. Mike Hammond. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
