LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::: Mrs. Novella Fulp Hudson Melton, age 82, of 367 S. Potter died August 17, 2008 at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born September 3, 1925 in Stokes County, NC the daughter of the late Elijah Fulp and Verda Dale Palmer Fulp. Mrs. Melton was twice married, firstly to the late William Clyde Hudson and secondly to the late William Kenneth Melton. Mrs. Melton retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church. Mrs. Melton is survived by 2 sons, George Daniel "Dan" Hudson and William "Bill" Hudson and his wife Judy both of Lancaster, a daughter, Janice H. Mathis and her husband Rick of Lancaster, step-son, Arnold Melton and his wife Martha of Monroe, 3 step-daughters, Phyllis Burgess and her husband Larry, Davelyn Rhyner and her husband Joel, and Joy Ellis all of Lancaster, a sister, Versie Floyd, 6 grandchildren, Sherry Watts and her husband Jerome, Geoffrey Hudson and his wife Jennifer, Chad Hudson, Amanda Adams and her husband Jessie, Crystal Stevens and her husband Greg, and Darren Hudson and his wife Heather, 9 great grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren, and 18 step-great grandchildren. Mrs. Melton was preceded in death by a step-son, Kenneth Melton, Jr. and a sister, Vadie Carpenter. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Melton will be 4:00 pm, Wednesday afternoon, August 20, 2008 at Pleasant Dale Baptist Church by Rev. Jack Nunn and Rev. Jessie Adams with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Family of Mrs. Melton will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday evening, August 19, 2008 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to Pleasant Dale Baptist Church Building Fund, 133 South Potter Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
