Goldsboro, NC ~ Norris Elizabeth Rape Funderburk, age 91, formerly of Lancaster, died Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Goldsboro, NC. She was born January 3, 1926 in Union County, NC, the daughter of the late W.W. and Sarah Brantley Rape and was the wife of the late Norman Funderburk. Mrs. Funderburk retired from Springs Industries-Grace Bleachery and was a member of White Springs Baptist Church.

Mrs. Funderburk is survived by 2 daughters, Phyllis Taylor and her husband, Rev. Michael Taylor of Rockwell, NC and Lydia Horne and her husband, Perry of Goldsboro, NC; 3 grandchildren, Phillip Taylor and his wife, Lori, Michael Paul Taylor and his wife, Amanda, and Brian Montgomery and his wife, Amy; and 7 great grandchildren, Sloane and Caden Taylor, Cameron, Andrew and Matthew Taylor, Alex and Ansley Montgomery, and Courtney and Baleigh Snipes.

Mrs. Funderburk was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and 12 siblings.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Funderburk will be 3:00 pm, Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Michael Taylor. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 3:00 pm Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Burgess Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to a charity of ones choice.
