KERSHAW, SC :::::::::: Mr. Norman Eugene Lance, Sr., age 79, died Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born March 10, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of the late Elmo Lance and Beatrice Skinner Lance and was the husband of Carolyn Kennington Lance. Mr. Lance retired from the United States Air Force after serving 21 years, later retired from the Lancaster County Sheriff's Department and was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Mr. Lance is survived by his wife Carolyn Kennington Lance of the home, a son, Gene Lance and his wife Paula of Kershaw, a daughter, Cheryl Olivia Lance Reeder and her husband Walt of Lugoff, SC, and 5 grandchildren, Olivia Faile, Travis Faile, Lauren Lance, Nikki Reeder and Walter Reeder, and 1 great grandchild, Valentino Faile.Mr. Lance was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Milton Lance and Lamar Lance.The Celebration of Life Graveside Funeral Service for Mr. Lance will be 11:00 am Saturday morning, October 31, 2009 at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Todd Gandy and Rev. Louie Anderson with full military honors. The Family of Mr. Lance will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and suggest in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Camp Leo Council, Inc., for Blind Children of SC, 1549 Powell Church Road, Harlem, GA 30814.
