LANCASTER, SC :::: Mr. Norman Richard Baker, age 82, died Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Rice Estates in Columbia. He was born August 10, 1931 in Lancaster, SC, the son of the late Vernon Elmer Baker and Nancy Jane (Jannie) Twitty Baker and was the husband of the late Peggy Walters Baker. Mr. Baker retired from the Catawba Fish Camp and Robinson Tax Service and was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church.
Mr. Baker is survived by a son, Joel A. Baker and his wife Dianne of Lancaster, a daughter, Rhonda B. Gibson and her husband Ernie of Columbia, a daughter in law, Frances Baker of Lancaster, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his wife Peggy, two sons, Ronald Dean Baker and Richard Wayne Baker, a brother, James B. Baker and a sister, Iva B. Bost.
The Celebration of Life Graveside Funeral Service for Mr. Baker will be 11:30 am Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Lancaster Memorial Park by Rev. Randy Mellichamp and Rev. Don Waldrop.
The Family will receive friends from 10:30 - 11:15 am Wednesday morning at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster and suggest memorial contributions to The Parkinson's Association of the Carolinas, 5970 Fairview Road, Charlotte, NC 28210 or to Rice Estates of Columbia, SC, 100 Finley Road, Columbia, SC 29203.
