LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Mrs. Norma Jean Schmidt Lane, age 88, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born March 30, 1928 in Rio Vista, California the daughter of the late Louis Schmidt and Viola Johnson Schmidt. Mrs. Lane was the wife of the late Vernon Green Lane. Mrs. Lane was a housewife and mother. She loved playing games, reading, bird watching and her cats, Jo and Millie. Mrs. Lane enjoyed traveling and spending time at the lake.

Mrs. Lane is survived by three sons, John Lawrence Lane (Betsy) of California, Joel Lavern Lane (Bonnie) of Colorado, and Jeffrey Lynn Lane of Georgia; three daughters, Joan Lane McKeithan (David) of Waxhaw; Jackie Lane Williams (Bennie) of Clover, and Janeen Laurel Lane of Lancaster; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Lane is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Lewis, Schmitty and Mickey; and a sister, Dorothy.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 1:00-7:00 PM at Mrs. Normas home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to help with funeral expenses, Joan McKeithan, 7105 Steele Rd, Waxhaw, NC 28173.
