LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Norma Hayes Blackmon, age 85, passed away Monday, March 25, 2019 at CMC-Union.  She was born August 5, 1933 in Greenville, SC a daughter of the late Clyde Hayes and Louise Doggett Hayes.  Mrs. Blackmon was employed over 40 years with Springs Industries.  She loved her family, friends and her church.  She enjoyed going on mission trips and loved working with pre-school children.  Mrs. Blackmon was a member of White Springs Baptist Church.

Mrs. Blackmon is survived by three daughters, Kathy Starnes and her husband, Rick, Teresa Phillips and her husband, Jimmy, and Sheila Farmer; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a son-in-law, Chris Tarlton; three brothers, Bill Hayes and his wife, Betty, Buford Hayes, and Rick Hayes and his wife, Wanda; and two sisters, Barbara Knight and her husband, Howard, and Sandra Jenkins and her husband, Gene.

Mrs. Blackmon was preceded in death by a daughter, Jo Ellen Tarlton; a grandson, Brandon Flowers; her parents; and two brothers, Gary Hayes and Roy Hayes.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Blackmon will be 11:00 am Thursday, March 28, 2019 at White Springs Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Mike Hammond.  Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 am, one hour prior to service, in the church fellowship hall and suggest memorial contributions be made to White Springs Baptist Church, 1249 Grace Ave., Lancaster, SC 29720.
