KERSHAW, SC ~ Mr. Nolan Dewey Hinson, age 74, died Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born July 15, 1942 in Lancaster, a son of the late George Dewey Hinson and Blanche Hinson Hinson and was the husband of Shirley Jenkins Hinson. He retired from Springs Industries-Grace Bleachery. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and just being outdoors, but his grandchildren were the love of his life. He was a member of White Bluff Baptist Church.
Mr. Hinson is survived by his wife, Shirley Jenkins Hinson; two sons, Brian Hinson and his wife, Lisa of Kershaw and Mitchell Hinson of Pageland; a brother, Danny Larry Hinson of Kershaw; two sisters, Margaret H. Phillips and Glenda Faulkenberry of Lancaster; four grandchildren, Autumn Hinson, Kendall Hinson, Logan Hinson and Tyler Anderson and his wife, Ashley; four great grandchildren, Ashton, Lily Grace, Peyton and Brady, and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hinson was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Howard Lee Hinson and Mack George Hinson and a sister, Robbie Thomas.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Hinson will be 3:00 pm Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at White Bluff Baptist Church by Rev. Jackie Jenkins and Rev. Doug Humphries. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00 pm Tuesday evening, June 27, 2017 at Burgess Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to White Bluff Baptist Church, 3473 Mining Road, Kershaw, SC 29067 or American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.
