LANCASTER, SC :::::::::: Carl Russell "Nig" Knight, age 89, of 6696 Shiloh Unity Road, died Friday morning, April 24, 2009 at Carolina's Medical Center - Union. He was born February 12, 1920 in Lancaster County, the son of the late Dan Laney Knight and Hallie McManus Knight and was the husband of Faye Snipes Knight. Mr. Knight was a retired railroad engineer for Seaboard Coastline, a member of the Lancaster Lions Club, a Mason with Wannamaker Masonic Lodge and a member of Springhill Baptist Church. Mr. Knight was survived by his wife of 67 years, Faye S. Knight of the home, a son, Danny Knight and his wife Jewell of N. Myrtle Beach, a granddaughter, Kristi Knight, and a brother Bill Knight of Tradesville. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Knight will be 3:00 pm Sunday afternoon, April 26, 2009 at Springhill Baptist Church by Rev. Brad Threatt with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Family of Mr. Knight will receive friends immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall and the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Lancaster Lions Club, PO Box 1266, Lancaster, SC 29721.
