LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Mrs. Nida Bell Gainer, age 79, the widow of Curtis J. Gainer, died Friday, September 6, 2013 at Chester Regional Nursing Center surrounded by her loved ones. She was born December 16, 1933 in Chester County, SC, the daughter of the late Fredrick T. Bell and Arizona Mullinax Bell. Mrs. Gainer was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, an adoring wife, sister, aunt, and friend. She had an infectious smile that was accompanied by the warmest spirit. She truly delighted in showing love and compassion to everyone she encountered. This made her the most memorable greeter at Wal-Mart after she retired from Acme Nameplate and J. P. Stevens. She was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church and also a very active member of High Point Free Will Baptist Church in Lancaster. She loved to socialize, sing gospel, travel and ride all the rides at Carowinds with her nieces and nephews. The many lives she touched will always remember her fondly and rejoice at what a blessing it is to have known her.
Mrs. Gainer is survived by a sister, Wrennie Goins of Lancaster and a brother, Paul A. Bell of Charlotte, NC.
Mrs. Gainer was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas "Tom" Bell and John Morgan.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mrs. Gainer will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Faith Baptist Church by Mr. James Goins. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.
The Family of Mrs. Gainer will receive friends following the service in the church social hall and suggest memorial contributions to the Hospice of South Carolina, Chester, SC 29706.
