FORT MILL, SC – ORTIZ, Nicholas Francis Xavier

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nicholas Francis Xavier Ortiz on November 4, 2024, at the age of 78. Nick was born on March 7, 1946, in Philadelphia, PA, to Nicola and Yolanda (Nee Flaiano) Ortiz.

Nick met the love of his life and beloved wife, Anna Donovan, when he was just 16 and her 15, and they were married for nearly 60 years.  Nick was known for his incredible work ethic, but mostly his love of family, the telling of long and slightly exaggerated stories, being a foodie, spending time with his dogs Chloe and Baby, and his hometown sports teams, especially the Eagles and Phillies. Along with his wife, he was a devout member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Lancaster, SC.

After graduating South Philadelphia's Archbishop Neumann High School in 1964, Nick entered the banking industry where he quickly ascended to a Sr. Vice President for Wachovia Bank (now Wells Fargo), in Philadelphia and New Jersey.  He received several awards for his service on high level projects. Nick retired in 2004 and relocated to South Carolina to enjoy the warm weather, his family, and his retirement.

Nick is survived by his son Nicholas and his wife Nancy (Nee Feighan), his daughter Christine and her husband Andrew Bristow, his son Stephen and his wife Cristy (Nee Colon), and his daughter Susan and her husband Michael Schurr.  Nicks pride and joy were his grandchildren Bret, Christopher, Leighann, Nicholas, Michael Jr, Alyssa, Casey, Anna, Kimberly, Kyle, Jason, Matthew, Christina, plus his great grandchildren Isabela, Bret Jr, Ellie, Benjamin, Kevin and a great granddaughter due in April 2025.

Nick's final resting place will be the Holy Angels Columbarium at Our Lady of Grace Church.
