LANCASTER, SC :::::::::: Rev. Nathan J. "N.J." Neely, age 82, of 1305 Suttle Road, died Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center. He was born May 27, 1927 in Great Falls, the son of the late W.F. Neely and Cora Shaw Neely and was the wife of Zevie Howard Neely. Rev. Neely was a graduate of Clear Creek Bible College and earned a Masters of Theology from Luther Rice Seminary. Rev. Neely was a Minister of Gospel for 50 years; having served at Alva Baptist Church in Alva, KY, Rosedale Baptist Church in Abingdon, VA, Bel Forest Baptist Church in Bel Air, MD and North Cheraw Baptist Church in Cheraw. He then formed Eunity Baptist Church in Cheraw, served Biltmore Baptist Church in Elizabethton, TN, Buckeye Baptist Church in Swannanoa, NC, Cleveland Baptist Church in Cleveland, VA, Glenwood Heights Baptist Church in Lancaster and was currently serving Mitford Baptist Church in Great Falls. Rev. Neely is survived by his wife Zevie H. Neely of the home, a daughter, Kathy Neely of Asheville, NC, 3 grandsons, David Neely, Seth Sawyer and Cody Sawyer, 4 great grandchildren; Ashlee Neely, Colby Neely, Christian Sawyer and Addison Sawyer.Rev. Neely was preceded in death by 2 sons, James William Neely and Stephen J. Neely.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Rev. Neely will be 3:00 pm, Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Second Baptist Church by Dr. Brian Saxon and Dr. Marvin Faile with burial to follow at Westside City Cemetery. The Family of Rev. Neely will receive friends one hour before the service, from 2:00 - 3:00 pm, Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Second Baptist Church and in lieu of flowers suggest memorial contributions to Second Baptist Church, Imagine the Impact Fund or Mitford Baptist Church - Carpet the Sanctuary Fund.
