Nancy
Senatro
February 17, 1946 – March 30, 2024
INDIAN LAND, SC ~ Nancy Senatro was born February 17, 1946, and passed away March 30, 2024, after a four-year hard-fought battle with ovarian cancer. She showed all those close to her how to use positive energy to stay strong and resilient.
She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Daniel Senatro; two daughters, Melissa Ghent and husband Thomas Ghent (Portland, CT) and Rebecca Chassie and husband Derek Chassie (Fort Mill SC); grandchildren, Maxwell Chassie, Sadie Chassie, Ashley Ghent, Tyler Ghent; her sister, Kathryn Martin (Berea OH); and her twin Brother, Arthur Edward Thompson (Tom) and wife Lynn Thompson (Deptford NJ).
Nancy grew up in Westfield, New Jersey. She loved spending her summers with her sister, twin brother, and cousins on Lake Estling.
Nancy is a University of Connecticut graduate with a BS in Physical Therapy. She was a PT for over forty years, and she enjoyed rehabilitating her patients. She earned a master's degree in healthcare management and held a leadership position at Middlesex Hospital.
Nancy treasured her many friendships including the Craft Club and Book Babes from Portland, CT. She loved walking and golf and later pool exercising, yoga, and playing mahjong with her girlfriends in Indian Land, SC.
Nancy and Dan resided in Portland, CT and later years in Old Saybrook, CT before settling in Indian Land, SC. They spent many years traveling all over the United States in their RV. They enjoyed the waterfront and had vacation homes in Cape Cod and Lake Winnipesaukee NH. Recent years they enjoyed their RV site in Fort Myers, FL. Both Alumni and fans of UCONN and enjoyed watching the basketball games together. Nancy loved their dogs and raised TJ and Abby together.
Nancy's pride and joy are her two daughters, Melissa and Rebecca. The girls always had the best time on their shopping trips, doing jigsaw puzzles, sharing books, sitting in the sun, and reminiscing about the younger years.
Nancy's greatest blessings call her Nana. Max, age 12 and Sadie, age 10 were blessed to have their Nana live nearby and be a huge part of their life. Nana taught them how to blow raspberries as babies, dye Easter Eggs, bake Christmas cookies and gingerbread houses, and build snowmen. She played for countless hours with them and was there for every milestone. Most recently she would be on the sidelines of soccer and baseball games being their biggest cheerleader. Her greatest gift was being their Nana.
Nancy had a strong faith and was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Indian Land SC and she gave back to her community and church through various volunteer activities.
