INDIAN LAND, SC ~ Mrs. Nancy Wilson Connell, age 80, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026. She was born October 30, 1945, in Long Island, NY, the daughter of the late Colonel Robert Wilson and Doris McClean Wilson and was the loving wife of Thomas Joseph Connell III.

Mrs. Connell began her career as a flight attendant with Pan Am, where her sense of adventure and passion for travel took her to many places and introduced her to countless people. Later, she found success as a dedicated real estate agent with Mary Rider Real Estate and Cottingham Chalk Real Estate, where she built lasting relationships through her kindness and professionalism.

She enjoyed an active life and found great pleasure in playing tennis and golf. She especially adored her beloved dog, Princess, who brought her much companionship and joy.

Above all, Mrs. Connell will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother, cherished daughter, caring sister, and dear friend. Her family was the center of her world, and her love for them was evident in all she did. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Connell is survived by her husband of 14 years; Tom Connell; her son, Scott Major (Janice) of Charlotte, NC; her daughter, Beth Whitehead (Kevin) of Chapel Hill, NC; her bonus daughter, Tracey Connell Cothran (Derek) of Charlotte, NC; her three grandchildren, Jake, Sarah, and Drew; her two sisters, Jan Smith (Charlie) of Waynesville, NC, and Robin Snook (Craig) of Myrtle Beach, SC; and many special family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Colonel Wilson and Doris Wilson.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Connell will be 1:00 pm Saturday, May 30, 2026, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Shirley Canty.

The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 1:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at Burgess Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to National Breast Cancer Foundation PO Box 676910 Dallas, TX 75267-6910.
