LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Nancy Mangum Adams, daughter of the late J.V. Mangum and the late Dezzie Threatt Mangum passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025. She was married to the late Waddell "Pete" Adams.

Mrs. Adams retired from Springs Industries, having worked 39 years as a Lab Technician in the Fort Lawn Plants. She was chosen one of the top 10 SC Textile Citizens of the Year 1995 and 1996 and was also chosen Textile Citizen of the Year in 1997 to represent 70,000 textile workers. Mrs. Adams was a member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church where she served as WMU director for 20 years, taught Sunday School, and was a choir member. She organized and served as chairperson for 22 years of mission trips for Pleasant Dale to help build 22 new churches. She loved her church, her Sunday School class, and her pastors, Dr. Jessie Adams and Rev. Jack Nunn. Mrs. Adams was a life member of Disabled American Veterans (DAV). She loved cooking for her family, working in her garden and sharing vegetables with friends and neighbors, and sending cards to friends and church family.

She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Riner (Dean); two sons, Scottie Adams (Annette) and Tim Adams (Lisa); grandchildren, Emily Sisk, Jessica Wilkins, Abbey Adams, Andew Riner, Allison Crolley, Daren Adams, and Chris Whited; and several great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Carol and Phyllis Phifer and Vivian Manshack; and brothers, Jimmy and Benny Mangum.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Adams will be 3:00 pm Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Pleasant Dale Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Jessie Adams.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, in the sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorials may be made to Pleasant Dale Baptist Church, Block Party, 133 S. Potter Rd., Lancaster, SC 29720.
