LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Myra Jane Williams Funderburk, age 81, passed away, Friday, December 6, 2024. She was born July 11, 1943, in Lancaster, SC, a daughter of the late Colon Williams and Ruth Plyler Williams and was the loving wife of Paul Maxwell "Max" Funderburk. Myra earned her master's degree in education and retired as a teacher. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting, traveling, and cooking for others. Myra was an active lifetime member of Zion United Methodist Church where she served as church historian and taught Sunday School.
Myra is survived by her husband, Max Funderburk; two daughters, Kim Yost and Susan Broughton (Tony); step-son, Sammy Funderburk (Kim); step-daughter, Melissa Wallace (Todd); grandchildren, Kayla Strait (Treston), Dillon Broughton, Luke Broughton, Madison Funderburk, Lily Grace Funderburk, Tucker Wallace, and Josie Wallace; great grandchild, Arden Strait; sister-in-law, Ann Williams; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Colon Williams, Billy Williams, and Colleen Funderburk; and the father of her children, Keith Stacks.
The Celebration of Life Service for Myra will be 2:00 pm Monday, December 9, 2024, at Zion United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. John D. Howle. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, 1665 Zion Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
