LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Lawrence Michael "Mike" Powers, age 74, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022, at Atrium Health Union.  He was born August 19, 1947, in Lancaster, a son of the late Hazel Lawrence Powers and Nancy Dell Hilliard Powers and was the husband of Ann Knight Powers.  Mike enjoyed going to and watching NASCAR and Lancaster Speedway with his sons.  He coached his sons in T-Ball and all the way through high school.  Mike loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren.  He loved being a member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church and was very active on the Building and Grounds Committee and working on the new church building.

Mike is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ann Powers; two sons, Mike Powers (Julie Outen) and Scott Powers (Tonya); two grandchildren, Kelsie Powers and Aliya Powers; three brothers, Wayne Powers (Bonnie), Harold Powers (Mary), and Jimmy Horton (Brenda); a sister, Dianne Cauthen (Jack); a special sister-in-law, Alice Knight; and many nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Peggy Long.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mike will be 2:00 pm Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Pleasant Dale Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Jessie Adams and Rev. Sean Stroud.
