LANCASTER, SC ~ James Michael Stevenson, age 39, passed away at his home. He was born May 20, 1982, in Lancaster, SC, a son of Gina McManus Deas and James Lawrence Stevenson, Jr.  Michael had the biggest heart and would do anything for you.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his niece and nephews, and playing baseball, soccer, basketball, and football. Michael had a great sense of humor and always had a smile on his face. He was the light of their life and will be greatly missed.

Michael is survived by his mother Gina Deas and her husband, Mike; his father, James Lawrence Stevenson; two sisters, Hope Wilson (Rev. JD), and Beth Stevenson; two brothers, Chris Stevenson (Brantley) and Ryan Stevenson (Courtney); a maternal grandmother, Flora Mae McManus; a niece, Kayden Lynn; six nephews, Zayden, Asher, Trey, Tanner, Owen, and Connor; many aunts and uncles; and a large extended family.

Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Kathryn Stevenson, Sr.; and maternal grandfather, Kenneth McManus; and a brother, Jamie Stevenson.

The Celebration of Life Service will be 3:00 pm Thursday, November 18, 2021, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. JD Wilson and Rev. Dale Walters.

The family will receive family and friends, one hour prior to the service, from 2:00-3:00 pm at Burgess Funeral Home. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Zion Baptist Church, 6964 Wateree Rd, Great Falls, SC 29055.
