INDIAN LAND, SC – On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, the Lord called Michael "Mickey" Joseph Enright, 69, suddenly home. He died in his sleep of a cardiac event leaving behind his beloved wife of 33 years, Susan (Lemon) Enright, a former wife Elizabeth (Turner) Enright, 3 daughters, Kelly (Andrew) Tiblier, Margeaux Enright, and Darby (Michael) Danko and 3 rambunctious grandsons, Hudson, Henry, and Graham. Mickey would have also wanted to mention his love for Gloria Turner, as she was instrumental in supporting him throughout his adult life.
Born in Richmond, Virginia, the son of William (Bill) and Margaret (Peggy) Enright, Mickey enjoyed a boyhood full of baseball, tending to his father's baseball fields, and playing the game. He never felt like an only child as his days were made full with many friends and time spent with his first cousins John and Jim, who were like brothers to him. Mickey's father was remarried after Peggy's death to Claire Butler and the large Butler clan graciously welcomed him into their loving family.
Always humble about his accomplishments, Dr. Enright never introduced himself as such. He obtained a 5-year pharmacy degree from THE Ohio State University and pursued his dream of becoming a medical doctor, graduating from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1981. He served as a physician in the U.S. Navy 1985-1988. He was granted a fellowship in MRI at The University of Virginia 1988-1989 and was a dedicated Radiologist practicing for over 40 years primarily in Roanoke, VA and Spartanburg, SC.
Proud of his Irish heritage, Mickey embraced a practical and conservative view of life. He was always up for lively discussions about current events and the state of our nation.
Mickey and Susan moved to Sun City in Indian Land, SC in 2023 where he pursued his current passions for quality time spent with his daughters and grandsons, canine companionship, and a seemingly endless pursuit of pickleball perfection.
Mickey was well known for his wit, empathy, and kindness. He would be surprised at how many lives he touched and their outpouring of sorrow following his loss. We loved you so much.
Rest in peace, Mickey.
