LANCASTER, SC.........Mr. Micah Scott "Redman" Kennington, age 55, died Monday, August 10, 2015 at his home. He was born December 17, 1959 in Lancaster, a son of the late Wilson Calhoun Kennington and Ann Whitaker Kennington and was the husband of Karen Faile Kennington. Mr. Kennington was employed with L & C Railway. He played guitar, enjoyed repairing the train, was an avid golfer since the age of 4 and was a member of High Point Baptist Church.
Mr. Kennington is survived by his wife, Karen Faile Kennington, a son, Michael S. Kennington, a daughter, Nikki Kennington, a sister, Melissa K. Gardner all of Lancaster and three grandchildren, Aydan S. Kennington, Harley C. Kennington and Damyen S. Pate.
Mr. Kennington was preceded in death by a nephew, Shawn Gardner.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Kennington will be 11:00 am Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Rich Hill Baptist Church by Rev. Rod Yow and Rev. Michael Polston. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday evening, August 12, 2015 at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Rich Hill Baptist Church, 1557 E. Doc Garris Road, Heath Springs, SC 29058.
