FORT LAWN, SC ~ Mr. Melvin Yancy Privette, Sr., age 76, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021. He was born June 16, 1945, a son of the late Yancy Privette and Alberta Harvel and was the husband of the late Joeann Privette. Melvin enjoyed fishing, going to the beach, working on cars, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of Lando Church of God and loved his church family.

Melvin is survived by his son, Mel Privette (Melissa); his daughter, Tonya Stepp (Clifford); eight grandchildren, Bryson Privette, Brenton Privette, Jolottie Stepp, Jasmine Stepp, Cordell Stepp, Marshall Stepp, Markus Stepp, and Jaycob Stepp; six great grandchildren; and a sister, Teta Hooper (Mike).

Melvin was preceded in death by his wife, Joeann Privette; a grandchild, Maranda Privette; his parents; two brothers, Johnny Privette and Cecil Privette; and two sisters, Betty Willis and Jackie Wright.

The Celebration of Life Service for Melvin will be 3:00 pm Friday, December 10, 2021, at Lando Church of God officiated by Rev. Andrew Flippo and Rev. Ed Harris.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lando Church of God, PO Box 84, Richburg, SC 29729.
