LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Melissa Eury Dinges, age 60, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born June 23, 1963, in York, SC, a daughter of the late Jospeh Jacob Eury and Pauline Verneia Smith Eury and was the wife of Steven Arthur Dinges. Melissa enjoyed gardening, fishing, and working. She studied to be a nurse and loved nursing and helping others. Melissa always lit up the room when she walked in, had a kind heart, to know her was to love her, and everyone she met became family. Family was most important to her, and she loved them all dearly. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Lancaster and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Melissa is survived by her husband of 7 ½  years, Steve Dinges; her children, Amber Leona Polston (Johnathon), Daniel Wentworth Cole, Jr., Camillia Dawn Eury (Alex), and Johnny Alton Eury (Jennifer); grandchildren, Christian Ray Polston, Riley Leona Polston, Scarlette Jade Cole, Yasmine Michelle Eury, Gabriella Renee Eury, Alton-Lee Lawrence Eury, Jaxton Nicholas Eury, and Macee Grace Eury; step-children, Susan Marie Hudson, Nathan Edward Dinges (Kristen), Krisit Lynn Dinges, and Kelly Marie Marden (Dan); step-grandchildren, Dominique Hudson, Molly Ferguson, Ellie Ferguson, Abby Marden, and Emma Marden; two sisters, Crystal Cornelious Kock (Eddie) and Cami Maggart; brother-in-law, Martin Dinges (Monica); sister-in-law, Barbara Rinaldo (Mike); and special extended family members, Kimberly Michelle Moseley (Jonathan) and children, Raylan Reese Bowers and Lea Noel Moseley, and Sheila Marie McCoy (Joshua) and children, Anthony McCoy, Emmett McCoy, and Lillith McCoy.

Melissa was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Gretchen Parker; and a brother-in-law, Butch Parker.

The Celebration of Life Service for Melissa will be 3:00 pm Thursday, October 19, 2023, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral home officiated by Mr. Terry Gaskin. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at Burgess Funeral Home.

Family and friends will be honoring the life of Melissa immediately following the service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1328 W Meeting St., Lancaster, SC 29720.
