LANCASTER, SC ~ Melissa Wendi Baker, age 37, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2025. She was born November 5, 1987, in York, SC, a daughter of Janice Hudson Baker and the late Michael "Mike" Wayne Baker. Melissa loved being pampered, she loved getting her hair and nails done and also doing nails for others. She always had a joke and enjoyed making others laugh. Melissa's most favorite thing to do was shop, especially for shoes.

Melissa is survived by her mother, Janice Baker; her three uncles, Barry Hudson, Daryl Baker, and Eric Baker; her aunts, Pat "Nanny" Massey (William), Jean Boatwright, and Marlene David Lucas; and her cousins, Kristy Wofford, Candice Hudson, Monty Hudson, Ernie Lucas, Haley Pate, Harper Ammons, Eric Lucas (Candy), Mike Lucas (Sharlee), Jerry Lucas, Terry Lucas (Susan), Randy Hudson (Selena), John Hudson (Greta), Glenn Cooper, Leah Reed (George), and Leanne Smith (Warren); and a large extended family

She is preceded in death by her father, Mike Baker; her sister, Brandy Marie Baker; her maternal grandparents, Montieth B. Hudson and Grace Marcene Davis Hudson; her paternal grandparents, Nancy Moore Vincent and Gilbert Baker.

The Celebration of Life Service for Melissa will be at 3:00 pm Monday, August 18, 2025, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Mitch Ingram.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service at Burgess Funeral Home.
