LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Miss Meagan Elizabeth Waits, age 12, died Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital. She was born March 5, 2001 in Lancaster County, the daughter of Thomas Bradley Waits and Aryn Elizabeth Gordon Waits. Meagan was a 6th grade student at Buford Middle School, loved cooking and watching cooking shows, and a vast love of animals. Meagan was of the Baptist faith, loved everybody and was loved my many.

Meagan is survived by her parents, Brad and Aryn Waits of the home, a sister, Emily Madyson Waits of the home, maternal grandfather, Donnie Ray Gordon, paternal grandparents, Kim and Julia Waits, maternal great grandmother, Lucille Hance, paternal great grandmother, Nannie Hammond all of Lancaster, her aunts, Sharyn Lawrence Gamble of Graham, NC, and Kimberly Ghent Waits of Lancaster, her uncles, David Gordon and Robbie Waits both of Lancaster, and Thomas Gamble of Graham, NC.

Meagan was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Darwin W. Gordon and her paternal great grandmother, Evelyn Waits.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Meagan will be 3:00 pm Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Burgess Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Wesley Campbell and Rev. Steve Bateman. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The Family of Meagan will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday, October 4, 2013 at Burgess Funeral Home and suggest memorials to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at www.cff.org.
