EASTOVER, SC – McKae Kristopher Carnes-Thomson, age 25, passed away Friday April 5, 2024. He was born October 28, 1998, in Columbia, SC, son of Jodie Anissa Carnes. McKae enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing video games with and hanging out with friends, watching standup comedy, karaoke, bowling, swimming, and working out at the Y. He was a very compassionate, loving person who had a big heart and an infectious smile. McKae was always the first one to reach out and help anyone. He always loved hanging out with his mom, Jodie, and helping her with whatever she needed, and he was the family favorite with all his cousins. McKae was employed with EMS-Chemie North America, Inc. in Sumter, SC.

McKae is survived by his mother, Jodie Carnes (Robert Cross); his sister, Mary Carson Carnes-Thomson; uncle, Patrick Carnes; two aunts, Mica Brakefield (Reid) and Carrie Collins (Greg); cousins, Halee Anissa Carnes, Jaycee Elizabeth Sowell, Kendal Leigh Williams (Samuel), Fynnleigh Williams, Cameron Brakefield, Miranda Collins-Burch (Gaston); Gaibry Burch, and Gaaron Burch; and two godmothers, Lisa Prosser and Patricia Ruffner.

McKae was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Carson Carnes and Dorothy Sue Carnes.

The Celebration of Life Service for McKae will be 3:00 pm Sunday, April 21, 2024, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Craigan Blankenship.
