LANCASTER, SC~ Max Edward Hough, age 89, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021 at his home. Max was born February 24, 1931 in Lancaster, a son of the late L. R. Hough and Lula Couch Hough and was the husband of Yvonne Rowell Hough. Max enjoyed fishing, working in his shop and his flower garden. He loved his family dearly and they remember his awesome sense of humor. Max was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church.
Max is survived by his wife of 70 years, Yvonne Hough; two sons, Tim Hough (Ann Jackson) and Chris Hough (Sheila); a daughter, Tami Hough; four grandchildren, Jamie Hough (Andrew Broome), Bradley Hough, Alicia Berry (Drew), and Tod Williams; six great grandchildren, Greyer Broome, Lo Berry, Nayeli Hydrick, Max Broome, Ella Broome, and M.J. Williams; a sister, Loraine Steele; and a large extended family.
Max was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gary Hough; three sisters, Elsie Laney, Catherine Shields, and Betty Phillips; four brothers-in-law, Martin Steele, Clarence Laney, Myron Shields, and Fred Phillips; and a sister-in-law, Dot Hough.
The Celebration of Life Service for Max will be 3:00 pm Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
