LANCASTER, SC::::::::::Mrs. Mary Edna Vincent Gibson, age 84, died Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born January 11, 1931 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Tillman John Vincent and Mary Mackey Vincent and was the wife of the late Donald Adams Gibson. Mrs. Gibson retired from The Lancaster News, was a member of the Green Gardner's Club and a charter member of Covenant Baptist Church.
Mrs. Gibson is survived by two sons, Ruddy Bumgardner and his wife Kim of Lancaster and Bobby Bumgardner and his wife Beth of Rock Hill; a daughter, Donna Gibson Stroud also of Lancaster; 7 grandchildren, Tonya Horton and her husband Jeff, James "Jamie" Bumgardner III and his wife Jennifer, Ashley Thomasson and her husband Patrick, Brett Bumgardner, Elizabeth Keifer and her husband Lloyd, Adam Stroud and his wife Amber and Jake Stroud, 8 great grandchildren, Gibson, Emily and Olivia Bumgardner, Christay and Brendan Horton, Gavin Byron Stroud, Tillman Griggs Keifer and Ellie Marie Thomasson and two sisters, Johnsie Turner and her husband Gene of Fort Lawn and Brenda Stacks of Lancaster.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mrs. Gibson will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Covenant Baptist Church by Rev. Tim Howard. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service in the church fellowship hall and suggest in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Covenant Baptist Church Mission Fund, PO Box 578, Lancaster, SC 29721.
