LANCASTER, SC ~ Ms. Mary Ann Pate Todd age 82, passed away on September 6, 2026. She was born on February 1, 1944, in Lancaster, SC, a daughter of the late Coleman Pate and the late Margaret Bowers Pate. Ms. Mary had a lifelong love for music, especially playing the piano. She joyfully shared her musical gift by playing at church throughout the years. She also dedicated 25 years to serving others as a waitress at Catawba Fish Camp, where she was known for her warm smile and friendly spirit.

A graduate of Lancaster High School and York Technical College, Ms. Mary later retired from the Lancaster County School District, where she faithfully served as a teacher’s assistant at Brooklyn Springs Elementary School. She found great fulfillment in helping others and was a familiar, caring presence to those around her.

Above all, Ms. Mary’s greatest joy was her family. Her favorite place to be was surrounded by the people she loved, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness and filled her heart with joy. The memories they shared will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved her.

Ms. Mary is lovingly survived by her three daughters, Lisa Tompkins, Lori Stevens, and Karin Collins (Dean); her grandchildren, Chris Reed (Kember), Brooke Tompkins, Michael Estes, Chelsey Rutledge (Josh), Alexis Ellis (Darius), Jack Todd, Justin Hatfield (Summer), Erica Killen, Nick Rollings (Jessica), Katlyn Rollings, and Austin Collins; 13 great-grandchildren, Crue, Camden, Issabell, Issac, Emmy, Troy, Koleson, Avalyn, Kaysen, Carson, Laurie, Koda, and Jett; her sister, Rachel Hatfield; and many nieces and nephews.
