LANCASTER, SC~ Mrs. Mary Evelyn Aldridge Steele, age 87, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021. She was born October 18, 1934 in Chesterfield, SC, a daughter of the late Elbert Aldridge and the late Wencie McAteer Aldridge and was the wife of the late Charles Henry Steele. Mrs. Steele retired from Springs Industries; she was a dedicated hard worker in the inspection department for 42 years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and spending time with her dog, Tippy. Mrs. Steele was a caregiver to many friends and family members. She loved spending time with her granddaughter. Mrs. Steele was a loving and devoted, wife, mother, and grandmother.

Mrs. Steele is survived by her son, Dennis Steele; two daughters, Wendy Davis (Jeff), and Tammy Lewis (Eric); five grandchildren, Jesse Lewis, Kaitlyn Davis, Madison Lewis, Landon Lewis, and Bethany Lewis; and her sister, Juanita Moore (Charles "Buck").

Mrs. Steele was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Charles Henry Steele; her parents, Elbert and Wencie Aldridge; and two brothers, Eugene Aldridge, and Hazel "Jr" Aldridge.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Steele will be Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 11:00 am at Zion United Methodist Church officiated by Pastor Bryant Blakely. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00- 11:00 am Saturday, one hour prior to the service, at Zion United Methodist Church.
