LANCASTER, SC ~ Ms. Mary Sue Funderburk Catoe, age 78, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Springs Memorial Hospital.  She was born August 28, 1940 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Frank Miller Funderburk and Daisy Knight Funderburk and the wife of the late Randolph "Doc" Catoe.  Mary Sue loved talking on the phone to her family and friends, cooking for others and spending time with her grandchildren.  Her grandchildren were the light of her world.  Mary Sue worked at Springs Industries for many years and later in life she enjoyed working with children at Buford Child Care.  She was of the Baptist faith.

Mary Sue is survived by a daughter, Wendy Suzette Horton; two grandchildren, Caysen Olivia Horton and Maxxon Bryce Horton; a brother, Johnny Ray Funderburk; a sister, Janie Jeanette Sapp; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary Sue is preceded in death by husband, Randolph "Doc" Catoe; her parents; three brothers, Wesley Funderburk, Frank "June Bug" Funderburk, and Fred Funderburk; and two sisters, Evelyn Miller and Lorraine Boone.

The family will hold a private service for friends and family at the home of Ms. Catoe's daughter, Wendy Horton.
