LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Mary Ann Funderburk Clifton, age 83, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026. She was born August 27, 1942, in Lancaster, SC, a daughter of the late Amon Tolson Funderburk and the late Ruth Dale Walters Funderburk Marze and was the loving and devoted wife of Albert Clifton.

Mrs. Clifton was a faithful and devoted member of Bethlehem Baptist Church for more than 50 years. Her love for the Lord was the foundation of her life, and she faithfully served her church family as a Sunday School teacher for five decades and as the church's membership secretary. She was a true servant of Christ whose quiet faith, compassionate heart, and unwavering commitment to God touched the lives of many. She was a godly woman who lived out her faith each day through her kindness, encouragement, and love for others.

Outside of her church, Mrs. Clifton was a dedicated supporter of the Buford Community. She was an active member of the Buford High School Booster Club for many years, and she and her beloved husband, Albert, faithfully served as the camera team for Friday night football games, preserving countless memories for players, families, and friends.

Mrs. Clifton also found great happiness at the beach, a place she lovingly considered her second home. Whether enjoying the peaceful sound of the waves, serving her church, or spending time with those she loved, she embraced every moment with gratitude and joy. Her steadfast faith, gentle spirit, and servant's heart will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her, leaving behind a legacy of love, faithfulness, and Christian devotion.

Mrs. Clifton is survived by her husband of 64 years; Albert Clifton; her sister, Jennie Ruth Guy; her nephews and nieces, Troy Funderburk, Kimberly Sue Funderburk, Sheree Sawyer, Johnsie Joan Chiles, and Jeffery Leon Guy; special friend and caregiver, Tina Hopkins; and many other special family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Sue Funderburk, and many other brothers and sisters.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Clifton will be 3:00pm Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Bethlehem Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Reggie Hopkins and Rev. Patrick Blackmon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
