LANCASTER, SC :::::::::: Marvin Riner, age 81, of 230 Holiday Road, died Monday, January 3, 2011 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born September 28, 1929 in Lancaster County, the son of Brite Barr Riner and the late James Olin Riner and was the husband of Jane Funderburk Riner. Mr. Riner retired from Lancaster County School District, was a member of First Baptist Church and served our great country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Riner is survived by his mother, Brite Barr Riner of Lancaster, his wife, Jane F. Riner of the home, a son, Dean Riner and his wife Wendy of Lancaster, a daughter, Beth Creech and her husband Tim of Blythewood, 2 sisters, Gaynell Smith and Marjorie Blackmon both of Lancaster, and 4 grandchildren, Andrew Riner, Allison Riner, Taylor Creech and Krista Creech. The Family will host a Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Riner at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at First Baptist Church by Rev. Jim Herron.The Family of Mr. Riner will received friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 5, 2011 in the Family Life Center and in lieu of flowers suggests memorials contributions to First Baptist Church, PO Box 670, Lancaster SC 29721.
