LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Martha Jo Lindler Mahaffey age 83, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Martha was born on May 9, 1942 in Blair, SC, a daughter of the late John Lomas Lindler Sr. and Lila Stoudemire Lindler and was the wife of the late James Alvin Mahaffey Sr. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she loved her church family. Martha received a bachelor's degree from Lander University, and she retired from Lancaster County School District where she left her mark with all her students.

Martha is survived by her step-daughter, Kem Mahaffey Harvey (Michael); her step-son James Mahaffey Jr; her four step-grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Ralph Mahaffey; her special caregiver and niece, Vickie Repko (Ray); and many other special nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Mahaffey Sr; her step-daughter, Pam Grubbs; her parents, John and Lila Lindler; her brothers, John Lindler Jr, Robet Lindler, Mack Lindler, Phillip Lindler, and Billy Lindler; her sisters, Margaret Wharton, Annie Laura Graham, Mabel Cain, and Sue Grant.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Martha will be 10:00 am Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Lancaster Memorial Park officiated by Pastor Anton Shipp. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
