IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Martha
Beasley
December 19, 1948 – August 15, 2025
LANCASTER, SC ~ Martha P. Beasley dedicated her life to education, spending more than 30 years teaching at Clinton Elementary after earning her master's degree from Winthrop University. She took great pride in seeing her former students grow into successful members of the local community.
An avid reader and lifelong Star Trek fan, Martha loved both romance novels and sci-fi thrillers. In retirement she especially enjoyed trips to Cherry Grove Beach, where she spent her days reading by the ocean and evenings listening to live music with her husband, Steward.
She cherished spending time with her daughters and four grandsons, always finding joy in family—whether in person or through FaceTime during Covid. Remembered for her quiet kindness, independence, beautiful handwriting, and ever-ready lipstick and polished nails, Martha lived with grace, dignity, and love.
Mrs. Beasley is survived by her two daughters, Sydna Burns (William Gregory), and Brendell Williams (Daniel David); her four grandchildren, Whit and Liam Burns, and Ethan and Finlay Williams; her two sisters, Gayle McKenzie (Joel), and Nancy Martin (Luther).
She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brother, Buddy Porter; and her two sisters, Priscilla Deaton, and Linda Garner.
The family is especially grateful to her neighbor and dear friend, Suzanne Dillon, whose kindness, friendship, and support over the past six years brought Martha joy after the loss of her beloved Steward.
The family will receive friends and family on Saturday September 27, 2025 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the home Martha loved so dearly.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to HOPE in Lancaster, PO Box 166, Lancaster SC 29721 or to Lancaster Children's Home, P.O. Box 416, Lancaster, SC 29721.
