LANCASTER, SC ~Marsha Edmonds Deerman, 78, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of love, cherished memories, and a family forever changed by her absence.

Born in Fort Payne, Alabama, Marsha was the daughter of the late Calvin Edmonds and Georgia Edmonds. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Larry Deerman, and by her siblings Shirley Deerman, Don Edmonds, and Deb Edmonds.

Marsha was a devoted Christian whose faith was an important part of her life. She spent 32 dedicated years serving others through her work at the Employment Security Commission before retiring. But her greatest accomplishment and greatest joy was the love she poured into her family.

Marsha was the most loving, caring, thoughtful, special, and constant presence in the lives of those who loved her. Her love was steady, unconditional, and never-ending. She was the kind of mother who was always there—a source of comfort, strength, encouragement, and unconditional love. Her family could always count on her, and there was never a question of how deeply she loved them.

She leaves behind her son, Michael Deerman; her daughter, Lindsey Deerman Tolbert and her husband Jason; and her beloved grandson, Cooper Lee Tolbert, whom she loved with everything she had. Cooper held a very special place in her heart, and the love between them was truly something beautiful.

She is also survived by her siblings, Bob Edmonds (Jenny) and Charlie Edmonds (Betty), along with numerous extended family members and friends who were blessed to know her and experience her love.

Marsha’s family finds comfort knowing that she is no longer in pain and is now reunited with her beloved Larry. She would often say that when she got to Heaven, she would get new legs. We can only imagine that she has those new legs now—and that she and Larry are together again, perhaps even cutting a rug like they never missed a beat.

Though her family’s hearts are broken, they are grateful for every moment, every lesson, every hug, every laugh, and every memory she gave them. Her presence was a constant in their lives, and her love will continue to be felt in everything they do.

She was deeply loved. She was deeply cherished. And she will be deeply missed.

Her family takes comfort in knowing that this is not goodbye forever, but simply goodbye for now. Until they meet again in Heaven, her love will remain a part of them—steady, unconditional, and never-ending.

The celebration of life memorial visitation will be held on Sunday September 20, 2026 at Burgess Funeral Home from 3pm-5pm.
