LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Marlene Fowler Stacks, age 71, passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Atrium Health Pineville.  She was born June 12, 1948 in Union County, NC a daughter of the late Marvin Gill Fowler and Majalene Starnes Fowler Hinson and was the wife of the late James Mitchell Stacks "Mickey".  Mrs. Stacks enjoyed reading, working in her flower gardens, walking, being outside, and going to the beach.  She loved her grandchildren.  Mrs. Stacks is remembered for her loving spirit and heart.  She was a member of Second Baptist Church and loved her church dearly.

Mrs. Stacks is survived by two sons, Monty Huey Stacks (Kelly Helms Stacks) and Shawn Mitchell Stacks; five grandchildren, Brianna M. Stacks, Zayla I. Stacks, Dustin Byrdic, Mitch Stacks, and Jordan J. Jones; three sisters, JoAnne Smith, Judy Hudson (fiancé, Clayton Carnes), and Cathy Broadwell (T.J.); three sisters-in-law, Deborah Fowler, Joyce Sims, who was also her best friend, and Brenda Usher (Johnny); a brother-in-law, Crawford E. Vincent (Carol) of Oscar, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Stacks was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Mickey Stacks; her parents; two brothers, Ernest Fowler and Donald Fowler; and two brothers-in-law, Thomas D. Smith and William M. Hudson.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Stacks will be 3:00 pm Friday, March 6, 2020 at Second Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Brian Saxon and Rev. Larry Helm.  Interment will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 pm, prior to the service, at Second Baptist Church and suggest memorial contributions be made to Second Baptist Church, 1426 Great Falls Hwy., Lancaster, SC 29720.
