LANCASTER, SC – Mrs. Marlene Wilson Flowers Crimminger, age 90, passed away April 8, 2026. She was born April 5, 1936, in Williamsburg County, SC, a daughter of the late William Wesley Wilson and the late Catherine Odelia Flowers Wilson and was the loving wife of the late William “Ray” Crimminger, Sr. She was the 14th child of 24 children and after her mother’s passing was raised as a member of the Flowers family in Lancaster, SC. Mrs. Crimminger and Ray were owners and operators of Sears Merchant Store in Kershaw, SC for over 25 years. She enjoyed baking, spending time at their house at the beach, watching the grandchildren and great grandchildren play ball, watching her favorite TV show Lawrence Welk, and traveling with Christian Tours where she and Ray were able to visit every state in America. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Grandma River”. Mrs. Crimminger was a member of St. Luke Methodist Church where she was a part of Myrtle Boling Circle, and she and Ray were very active in the Golden Agers.
Mrs. Crimminger is survived by her son, Rick Crimminger (Joyce); two daughters, Midenna Anderson (Norman) and Jennifer Cauthen (Farris); five grandchildren, Chris Crimminger (Chanda), Brittany Price (Kyle), Will Anderson (Megan), Emily Jaillette (Burton), and Sam Williford; sixteen great grandchildren; a very special niece, Kathy Johnson; and a large extended family.
Mrs. Crimminger was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Ray Crimminger; her daughter, Susan Dixon; grandchild, Alex Williford; and her parents.
The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Crimminger will be 4:00 pm Monday, April 13, 2026, at St. Luke Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Eddie Usher. Burial will follow at St. Luke Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service, in the Welcome Center at St. Luke Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Catawba Area Council of Aging, 2051 Ebenezer Rd. Ste B., Rock Hill, SC 29732 or Heart of Hospice Lancaster, 901 W Meeting Street, Suite 104, Lancaster, SC 29720.
