FORT LAWN, SC ~Mr. Mark Eldridge Blackmon, age 56, passed away Monday, October 22, 2018 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born June 9, 1962 in Lancaster, a son of Ruth Harper Blackmon and the late William Christopher Bill Blackmon, Jr. Mark was a contractor and was very talented with his work. He could make or fix anything. He loved to fish and just being around water, but music was his passion. Elvis and the Beach Boys were his favorite artists.

Mark is survived by his mother, Ruth Harper Blackmon; a son, Jonathan Blackmon and his wife, Amanda of Lancaster; two daughters, Tiffany Smith and her husband, Michael of Spartanburg and Jada Blackmon of Lancaster; one grandchild, Reagan Blackmon; two brothers, Harold Blackmon and his wife, Diane of Charlotte, and Rev. Chris Blackmon and his wife, Aletha of Fort Lawn; and one sister, Ellen Beckham and her husband, Larry of Lancaster.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mark will be 4:00 pm Thursday, October 25, 2018 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Chris Blackmon and Rev. Eddie Usher.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 3:00 4:00 pm at the funeral home and suggest memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 128 S. Tryon Street, #1588, Charlotte, NC 28202 or online at donatenow.heart.org.
