CATAWBA, SC:::::::::: Mr. Marion Roy Carter, age 66, died Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill. He was born September 6, 1950 in Rock Hill, a son of the late Thomas Roddey Carter and Frances Revels Carter and is the husband of Charlotte Coakley Carter. Mr. Carter was employed with Martin Marietta as a heavy equipment mechanic. Mr. Carter enjoyed farming, camping, drag racing and spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He served our country in the United States Army and was a member of Fort Lawn United Methodist Church.

Mr. Carter is survived by his wife of 41 years, Charlotte Carter; a son, Dwayne Davis and his wife, Kristie; two daughters, Debbie Correll, and Todd and Tammy Graddy and Randy; and five grandchildren, Rusty Correll, Preston Davis, Shelby Davis, Ryan Graddy and Bella Grace Davis; and a special friend, Marsha Stewart; and his side kick, Sidney Christopher.

Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Thomas R. Carter.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Carter will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Fort Lawn United Methodist Church by Rev. Karen Richmond. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 pm Friday evening, December 16, 2016 at Burgess Funeral Home and suggest in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Lancaster SPCA, PO Box 3042, Lancaster, SC 29721.
