FORT MILL, SC ~ On July 1st the world was made aware of the passing of Marilyn Jean Bauer, 75, of Fort Mill, SC.  She was born June 1st, 1948, in Albany NY.  Marilyn was a 1967 graduate of Columbia High School and finished her Associates from HVCC in 1971.

She retired after almost 37 years at the NYS Retirement System in 2009.

Marilyn was predeceased by her loving parents Frank Henry Jr. and Ruth Bertha Fuglein, her brother-in-law, Richard Thoelen, her great-niece Grace Bauer, great-nephew Aiden Bauer and great-great niece Jayden Bauer.

She leaves behind her loving family who will miss her dearly, including her sister, Judith Thoelen, and her brothers Frank and Alan Bauer.

Her nieces and nephews:  Amy (Tobias) Heusner, Janine (James) Romeo, Todd Bauer, Scott (Cheri) Bauer, Michael (Sharon) Bauer, Michelle (Andrew) Rathbone, Kristy Bauer, Kimberly (Christopher) Van Vliet, Kevin (Karen) Bauer, Mickey (Allona) Bauer, Ashley (Jonathan) Worobey.  Her great nieces and nephews:  Benjamin, Nicholas, Noelle, Eric, Cassie, Emily, TJ, Jason, Isaiah, Mikey, Noah, Corey, Nathan, Mallory, Harrison, Hayden, Kevin Jr., Addison, Kaylie, Emily, Hudson, and Henrik.  The great-greats:  Ryder and Bailyn.

She had many wonderful cousins, and her dear Aunt Evelyn.  And finally, her best friend, Chrissie Kronau.

She may not have had children of her own, however, she treated us all as if we were her children.

We will be celebrating her life at the New Salem Firehouse, 694 New Salem Road, Voorheesville, on August 6th with a prayer service beginning 2:30pm.

Aunt Marilyn was VERY generous to countless charities throughout the year, in a switch of fate, we ask in lieu of a contribution, you can send flowers, preferably purple, to Kristy at 5 Maple Lane in Cohoes for the service.
