WAXHAW, NC:::::::::::Mrs. Maria Grace Forte Coiro, age 99, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 13, 2016. She was born June 18, 1917 in New York, NY, a daughter of the late Guiseppe Forte and Michelina Cerbone Forte and was the wife of the late Francis Joseph Coiro, Sr. Mrs. Coiro was a homemaker, enjoyed cooking, being with people and loved to dance. Mrs. Coiro was a member of St. Catherines Catholic Church and was active with the Ladies Guild of the church.

Mrs. Coiro is survived by a daughter, Clara Sapienza and her husband, Richard of Waxhaw, NC; a son, Frances Joseph Coiro, Jr. of Ellington, NY; a sister, Edith Nicastro of Watchung, NJ; and three grandchildren, Donna Marie Cerreta, Joseph Anthony Coiro, Jr. and Richard James Sapienza, Jr.

Mrs. Coiro was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Joseph Anthony Coiro; and three sisters, Susan LaVista, Connie Lucci and Dora Forte and three brothers, Nicholas Forte, Joseph Forte and Vincent Forte.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Coiro will be 11:00 am, Saturday, July 16, 2016 at St. Catherines Catholic Church by Father Philip Gillespie.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 4:00 pm and also 6:00 8:00 pm Friday, July 15, 2016 at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster and suggest in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimers Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY., 10001 or a charity of your choice.
