LANCASTER, SC::::::::::::: Mrs. Margie Mackey Baker, age 86, died Sunday morning, November 9, 2008 at Agape Rehabilitation in Rock Hill. She was born March 4, 1922 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Edward Mackey and Annie Bell Ghent Mackey. Mrs. Baker was first married to the late Kelon Thompson and later to the late Harold Baker. She retired from Skyline LTD in Heath Springs and was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church.Mrs. Baker is survived by 2 sons, Morrison Thompson of Lancaster and Norman Baker of Rock Hill, a brother, Poovey Mackey of Heath Springs, 2 sisters, Mary Monroe and Ruth Roberts both of Lancaster, 6 grandchildren, Julie Tyre, Steve Thompson, Louise Baker, Denise Morris, Una Hall and Badie Pike, and 9 great grandchildren, Ashton, Megan, and Justin Thompson, Caleb Eubanks, Parker Pressley, China Mullins, Zachary Pike, Ashley Reece and Nikki McBride. Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by a son, Ronald "Cootie" Thompson, a brother, Roy Mackey and a sister, Geneva Knight.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Baker will be 3:00 pm, Wednesday afternoon, November 12, 2008 at Hartley Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Darryl Thompson with burial to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The Family of Mrs. Baker will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday evening, November 11, 2008 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to Hyde Park Baptist Church, 1898 Flat Creek Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
