LANCASTER, SC :::::::::::Mrs. Margaret Neal Snipes, age 85, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at White Oak Manor where she was a resident. She was born September 10, 1927 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Thomas Jackson Neal and Haselyn Parks Neal and was the wife of the late Rev. Lytle J. Snipes. Mrs. Snipes was a homemaker and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Mrs. Snipes is survived by 2 sons, Tommy Snipes and his wife Dianne of Lancaster, and Terry Snipes and his wife Peggy of West Columbia, a daughter, Ginger Winburn of Society Hill, 2 sisters, Helen McCain and Betty Horton both of Lancaster, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Snipes was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Aaron Neal, Cletus Neal, Milburn Neal and Guy Neal and 3 sisters, Inez Rankin, Minnie Lee Phillips and Edna Mosier.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Snipes will be 11:00 am Friday, February 15, 2013 at The Chapel of Hartley - Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Grover Johnson. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The Family of Mrs. Snipes will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Hartley - Burgess Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, Tommy Snipes. The family suggest memorial contributions to White Oak Manor, Activity Fund, 253 Craig Manor Road, Lancaster, SC 29720
